PARISH ANNOUNCEMENTS:
PARISH ASSEMBLY (PA) 2008: How do we promote Family Life in our parish in light of the circumstances and challenges which we face in Singapore? How do we form our parishioners to connect their faith to their daily life?
If you have a view or suggestion as to how our parish is able to make plans to address some of our pastoral concerns, we invite you for this day of prayer, reflection and discussion, to share with us some of your thoughts and inspirations.
The PA is the gathering of the parish community, during which we are open to the prompting and guidance of the Holy Spirit, who speaks to us through the collective voice of the parishioners and together we discern His plans. Do sign up at the Parish Booth outside the Main Church and be part of this important day. Sunday, 31 August, 1.30pm - 5.00pm @ The Attic (Level 4).
LAY APOSTOLATE SUNDAY HANDOUTS : This year is the 20th anniversary of the encyclical by Pope John Paul II on the vocation & mission of the lay faithful - Christifideles laici. In celebrating Lay Apostolate Sunday, CSCC and SPI has jointly produced a 4-part series based on the document to help all lay persons to understand our important mission in the world.
Part 1 of the series will be distributed in the parish on Sun, 17 Aug, look out for it! THE CARTOONIST for the handouts is one of our parishioners, Shawn Teo, a member from the RCIA and Young Adult Prayer group.
SCC ACTIVITY : The Living Word Community (Thomson Hill SCC) will meet in Bernard & Mary (Wong) residence, 88 Thomson Green, tel 64570597, on Fri, 22 Aug, 8.15pm, for Eucharistic celebration, scripture reading and sharing. Neighborhood's members and friends are all most welcome.

MISSION TRIP FUND RAISING
Take a leap of faith with our confirmation youths (L9), who are raising funds for their upcoming post-confirmation mission trip to Bicol (Philippines) and Batam (Indonesia) in December. Today they are selling chocolates and rosaries. They are also busking, too. As we are sending them out as our missionaries, please support them generously.
RIOT! FOR A CAUSE
As part of their fund raising for their mission trips the L9 youths are organising RIOT! FOR A CAUSE - a concert by several bands and performers from our parish and around it. It will be held on Sunday, 7 Sep 2008 from 2-5pm at The Attic. Tickets are being sold at $10 by the youth outside. As the youth have been very generous with their time and talents for the mission's cause, please give them your support.
